SERVE

"Anyone who welcomes you, welcomes me..."

-Jesus, Matthew 10:40

We are a Jesus-seeking community whose goal is to honor God by offering Biblical, radical hospitality so that every person who walks through the doors feels genuinely valued and accepted.

Hug and rock children during one of our Sunday services!  One certified Sunrise Kid Care Professional will be working with one or more volunteers to care for our congregation’s children during our three Sunday morning worship services.  Volunteer times are 8:15 – 9:45, 9:30 – 11:00, or 10:45 – 12:15.  Background checks must be completed before volunteering begins.  Our nursery is available for all children from birth through 3 years.  This staff is comprised of dedicated, trained, and loving individuals and background-checked volunteers who love to serve children.

There are also still volunteer positions open for Sunday School teachers and helpers. Contact for more information.

Friendly ambassadors make guests at Sunrise feel welcome and connected. If you are interested, please contact Donna Adams.

Greeters open doors and welcome people as they come to worship. Email for more info.

You can also help at the welcome desk, by answering questions and handing out gifts to first time visitors. For more information, email Sherry Drew.

First time guests are also given loaves of bread. If you are interested in baking this bread or delivering it, please email Sharon Hawkins.

Scripture readers are needed during the 8:30 & 9:45 services. Email here for more info.

There are many other ways you can volunteer at Sunrise.

If you have military, law enforcement, security or medical backgrounds, you can assist with the Safety Team. They train to respond to emergency situations that may arise. Email Rick Hunt for more information.

Church office volunteers help several hours per week, by serving as receptionists, helping with mailings, organizing, assisting the office manager and more. Please contact Pattie Smith for more information or to volunteer.

Contact:  Annette Grundmeier, careportal@sunriseumc.com

CarePortal links the Department of Human Services with the church through e-mails to help meet the needs of the children in their care.  The needs are great! To sign up, fill out a card at the Welcome Desk and drop it in the CarePortal box. Go to careportal.org for more information.  If you don’t want to receive e-mails, you can still help. Most needs are gas cards, bus passes, groceries, car seats, booster seats, cribs, and beds of all sizes.  One way to help both Sunrise and CarePortal would be to buy grocery cards here at Sunrise and use them to meet grocery or gas requests for CarePortal.
