Check out Sunrise Church's news and happenings.

We'd love for you to participate in one of our classes or events detailed below.

Join us THIS Wednesday! Everyone is invited to our new Family Experience at 6:00-7:30pm in Fellowship Hall.  There will be worship, a message, and small groups dedicated to adults, high school students, middle school students, and elementary and preschool students.  There will also be childcare for those who are age 3 and younger. Our theme for the year is IGNITE PASSION! What inspires your family? What keeps you motivated?  Come join our community and build friendships while discovering ways to deepen your relationship with Christ. Questions? Contact Beth at bethj@sunriseumc.com.

Join us for the re-launch of our Young Adult Group:  Ablaze! We’re a college-aged and beyond group for those looking to connect in the next step of their spiritual journey.  Our mission statement is “Hearts, Minds, and Souls on Fire for God” and we seek to engage with the Word through logical, philosophical, and faith-guided study of who God says that He is. Our first meeting is Tuesday, September 3, from 6:30-7:30pm in room 218, and we will meet every other Tuesday after that.  For more information, please contact Gabby at gabbys@sunriseumc.com.

SAGES (Sunrise Association of Genial Elders, a group for folks 55+) will meet for brunch at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 11, at Village Inn at 4275 N. Academy Blvd.  Come enjoy Free Pie Wednesday with them!

Contact Teri at teria@sunriseumc.com to join a group for our fall all-church-study of Half Truths by Adam Hamilton or explore a Sunday School class, Bible study, fun group, or generational group to make new friends.

Singers and Instrumentalists, the Sunrise WCO (Worship Choir and Orchestra) will be starting their 2019/2020 season with rehearsal on Wednesday, August 14 (Orchestra at 6:30pm and Choir at 7:00pm).  Questions? Contact Nate at natev@sunriseumc.com. Seriously, we need YOU!

United Methodist Men will sell veggies on the following Sundays:  Sep. 22, and Oct. 6 and 20. If you can help them, contact Jim Pagonis at pagonis@aol.com to sign-up to be a driver or rider for the pickup trips to Rocky Ford on the Saturday preceding each of the sale dates and help to set-up, sell produce, and tear down on Sunday sale dates.

Are you the parent of a college student?  If so, join the Empty Nesters for fellowship and assembling care packages for our college students.  They meet four times each school year: early September, early December, early February, and late April.  Each parent (or set of parents) provides an item to include in the care package for each college student. Contact Sherry at 719-232-1941 or sherrydrew00@yahoo.com if you would like to join in this fun ministry.

Sunrise Women’s Book Club will resume on Wednesday, September 18, 1:00-3:00pm in room 202.  All book lovers and readers are invited to join. Our book discussion for September will be on Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate.  Questions can be directed to Gloria Shryock at rocknglo@comcast.net.

United Methodist Men and United Methodist Women will meet together on Saturday, September 14, at 9:00-11:00am in Fellowship Hall.  All men and women of Sunrise are invited to enjoy fellowship, breakfast, and a program featuring Robin Adair, Coordinator for the Pikes Peak Regional Office for Emergency Management.  Come and learn more about basic disaster response skills for hazards that may impact your area.
