Adult Ministries Class

United Methodist Women (UMW)

We have over 100 women meeting monthly as five small groups, called Circles. Each circle is named after a woman in the Bible. The purpose of United Methodist Women is to expand concepts of mission with participation in the global ministries of the church. We do this through quarterly meetings with various speakers and through two church-wide fundraisers held annually.

We encourage you to visit any one of our groups!

For more information, contact Mary Ellen Owens, President of UMW, or call the church at 719-598-7013.

Anna Circle’s mission is working with Tri-Lakes Cares and also Mercy’s Gate, providing donations when needed.  They provide emergency kits to UMCOR and keep in touch with the shut-ins of Sunrise to help them feel their importance in our church.  The programs vary, but often center around an inspirational book that they choose and discuss throughout the year.  This circle is made up of a variety of ages and backgrounds.  Many members live in the Monument/Tri-Lakes area, but everyone is welcome.  They enjoy gathering in members’ homes on the second Wednesday of the month at 1:00pm.  Carpooling is available. Contact is Sunnie Anderson, 719-641-2205.

Deborah Circle consists of outgoing, joyful Christian ladies and welcomes all ages to join them.  Their meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month at 9:30-11:30am.  During the winter months, the circle meets at the Church in room 205/206 and during the summer months (June-August), brunches/lunches are held at various places.  Their mission focus is supporting a female nursing student in Kenya and Partners in Housing, a Colorado Springs organization giving homeless families hope, opportunities, and providing one-year transitional housing and supportive services so the families can become self-sufficient.  Contact is Linda Krager, 719-650-9610 or Karen Mein, 719-244-5829.
